A Note from Chloe

Dear Reader,

When I think about design, I think about people first. Every project begins not with drawings, but with listening — to your habits, your history, and the way you want to live. I want to understand you more deeply: the way you use your home day to day, the memories you hope to protect, and the new ones you wish to make.

Often, couples or families come to me with different styles, preferences, or needs. My role is not to erase those differences, but to merge them — creating spaces that feel balanced, layered, and reflective of everyone who calls it home. Too often I have seen designs “copied and pasted” — a line of wardrobes repeated without thought, or a grab rail installed without considering how the rest of the home might support accessibility. True design asks why: why a feature is needed, why a colour matters, why a detail will serve you now and in the future.

Colour, texture, and proportion are not just aesthetic choices — they can shape mood, memory, and wellbeing. I believe design should support the people who live within it in ways both subtle and profound. Beyond being functional, a home should hold your history and evolve with you, becoming the backdrop to your most important moments.

For me, that is the essence of design — not decoration, but the thoughtful shaping of space so that it belongs to you in every sense.

Warmly,
Chloe M Trask
